It is sad to know that so many teenagers are not practicing safe sex and are even trying to have a baby when they are only 15 or 16 years old. It is obvious that they have not been taught how much responsibility they will have when trying to raise a baby and how it makes it nearly impossible to get an education that they need in order to support that child.
But becoming pregnant is not the worst thing that can happen when they are not having safe sex. They and the partners that they have can be transmitting and receiving diseases and STDs – which can ruin them for life. They can be spreading things like gonorrhea, genital warts, and even HIV/AIDS – which cannot be cured.
There are two things that you can do. It is possible to put your daughter on birth control when they become teenagers. But in a way this is giving them permission to have sex and is still not helpful when trying to avoid contracting and transmitting diseases. The best thing that you can do is to teach them abstinence.
Normally when people hear that word they start to laugh and think how ridiculous it is. This is because in today’s world we are told that sex is OK and fun and natural. According to them only extremists or religious people are abstinent. But with your help this view can change and your child can be more knowledgeable about it.
Sit down with your son or daughter and tell them what can happen when they have one or many partners. Show them pictures and describe to them what can happen when something goes wrong even if it is only one time. Teach them to be abstinent until they are married and show them how much better and safer it will be for them.
In order to help your teenagers you need to teach them the Important Of Abstinence. Most older women will use IUDs in order to keep from becoming pregnant.
